The Road

By: Cormac McCarthy

A chilling tale showing the relationship between father & son, as they try to head south, to flee from the cold, in this post apocalyptic nightmare of a novel, where ash falls from the sky and the people are worse.

Plot: Father & son head south to escape the cold, dark days, while battling the harsh conditions of rain & ash.  Along they way they will have to battle their hunger, while defending themselves from the hunger of other people.  It isn't so much the plot that drives this novel, rather the adventure that will keep readers glued to the book.

Review:  A novel that truly explores the human condition, compelling to the very last pages.  The anxiety is experienced by the characters & readers alike, which will compel the reader to not put the book down until both Papa & his child are safe.
